1. Breaking resistance. The ability of the roll body and roll neck to withstand working stress without transverse fracture. For the specific conditions of use, the main thing is that it should have sufficient strength and toughness, and there should be no manufacturing defects that may cause fracture.

2. Thermal shock resistance. When the working roller bites into the hot blank, the roller surface heats up locally rapidly or when it encounters accidents such as stuck steel, due to friction, the roller surface heats up violently. The ability to resist this thermal shock without cracking and peeling is called thermal shock resistance, which is an important symbol to measure the performance of the working roller.

3. Anti-spalling. The ability of the roll to be under contact stress for a long time without causing the roll body to fall off.

4. Thermal crack resistance. Hot rolling work rolls are subjected to the action of cold and heat from the rolling material and coolant to produce thermal fatigue, and the ability to resist this action without producing mesh cracks or making mesh cracks refined and shallow.

5. Wear resistance. The ability of the working part of the roll to resist weight loss or size reduction during the rolling process. It should be noted that the wear resistance of the roll in love and the wear resistance in the cold state are not necessarily the same.
